What to Expect
If you’re visiting our Abingdon chiropractic care centre for the first time, we’d like you to know exactly what to expect. We want to make sure that you feel relaxed and comfortable and feel confident in choosing to make us your family chiropractors.
Results Align Chiropractic is often described as being warm and community oriented. Our office has a happy vibe with cheerful, upbeat music. We feature soft music to help you relax, and spa-like aroma diffusers with original herbal essences.
You’ll sometimes see one of our friendly doctors sitting in the reception area chatting with patients. Entire families often see us, from newborns to those in their golden years. Patients usually hang around afterwards in the reception area to sip a glass of water. Lots of great conversation abounds to the point where loyal friendships get their start.
We invite you to be a part of that process and tradition.
Allow us to introduce you to our unique process if you’re coming in as a new patient:
Your initial consultation will take about 40 minutes. There’s an online form that you’ll be sent prior to your initial examination. Please fill it out before we welcome you for your first visit. If that isn’t possible, just arrive for your appointment about 15 minutes early. We’ll invite you to sit down to complete your initial paperwork.
During your assessment, one of our chiropractors will ask you several questions to gather a detailed history of your presenting complaint. Lifestyle habits and your personal goals will be discussed. We want to get an accurate “feel” for your problem so that we can do a good job in helping you feel good again.
A thorough examination will be conducted, including
- Physical testing, including range-of-motion studies
- Orthopaedic tests
- Neurological tests
- A digital posture evaluation
- X-rays are taken (If clinically indicated)
Your second visit will take about 30 minutes. During this appointment, one of our doctors will evaluate your examination findings to help you understand the source of your problem. Customised treatment and financial options will be discussed as well as specific goals to help you start feeling your best.
We’ll also take this time to answer your questions and handle any concerns that you might have. Whether this appointment is for yourself or your child, our goal is to reassure you of the safety and benefit of chiropractic care.
If you make the decision that chiropractic care is for you or your child, you’ll receive your first gentle chiropractic adjustment during this visit.
Because our clinic features the experienced care of two doctors, you’ll find that we have a treatment system that’s smooth and efficient. We’re very aware that time constraints are a very real issue for many. During this time of pandemic, those same time constraints are valid today as well.
Usually, follow-up visits will take about ten minutes.
We want you to know that our office takes every precaution imaginable to keep you safe and healthy, particularly during this time of crisis.
